'De Bono's six thinking hats' Effect..

Before leaving for Colombo last month, the Indian team were given tips about new ways of thinking by a TCS consultant and these tips were referred to as De Bono's six thinking hats. The Indian team made use of these tips in a terriffic way. They were able to think and implement the plan of losing the final from a winning position. They were able to think different ways of helping the opposition to win a match from a hopeless situation. In the second league against lanka, the Indians couldn't win the match even though sri lankans were tottering at 95/6(Remember..No Vaas..No Murali and No Zoysa..).. yet they won through Chandana..

This team needs serious whipping. Dhoni is thinking batting as his primary responsibility and he is dropping lot of catches. If that is the case then Dravid suits that role better and we can have another extra batsmen. The much hyped fifth bowler was taken in the final and it immediately showed the results.. the 2 spinners between them gave away runs at the rate of 6 per over while chandana and murali could take 4 wickets and give just 3 runs per over!!

As said by Ranataunga in his article..(http://in.rediff.com/cricket/2005/aug/10rana.htm).. we are the worst fielding side in the world.. the amount of catches sehwag and dhoni drop only god should know. and don forget the extra effort put by nehra and zaheer in sending the ball to the boundary at third man position though the shot deserves only 2 runs..

Greg or no greg ..this team wont change..

yet another useless one-day tournament.

but lot of negatives to take back home (and continue them for the tests).

i still don't understand why balaji was not given a game. was he injured?.

laxman would be out of the OD team for a long time. one more thing i don't understand is: how is that if one does not find form in even ODIs, is expected to find form in tests (a much superior and more difficult version)?.

ganguly.. poor guy.. he would just be hoping captaincy comes to him.. although he said he is willing to play under anyone (ha ha).

someone who has been around for more than 10 years still doesn't know to play the short ball. i read in prem panicker's blog that journalists have seen ganguly imperiously order the bowlers to pitch the ball up when they bowl a short one at him during the 'nets'.

bah!
